C. Richards Leather contacted me about designing a prototype for a wallet. The requirements were a simple design, no more than two pieces of leather, and only one stitch. Finding the right balance of simplicity and elegance was an enjoyable challenge that made for a very rewarding design.

I spent a fair amount of time thinking of ways to make a wallet with only one stitch. Wanting this to be simple without looking cheap was key. Sketching out ideas then making some prototypes allowed C. Richards and myself to see a natural progression of where we wanted the design to go.

The result is the wrap wallet. Using one piece of leather and wrapping it allows there to be only one stitch while still maintaining a secure place to store your cards and money.

Using only one piece of leather also allows the wallet to remain incredibly thin while separating your cards from cash.
